Hatsune Miku 【Magical Mirai 2016】 Nendroid Review

Well hello!

It feels like it’s been ages. So many things have happened lately…( ꒪Д꒪)ノ My little sister got married, I ran another 5k, and I’m in the middle of my summer semester at school. It’s been hard finding time to actually relax and work on videos and posts. BUT TA-DA; I MADE IT HAPPEN TODAY.

Nendroid Title

Last week, I received a long awaited package in the mail from Good Smile Company. After being delayed around three times, the Magical Mirai 2016 Nendroid has made it home!

Unboxing this cute patootie was filled with so much anticipation and indescribable weeb noises that I just could not contain myself.  First off, the hair looks flawless and was painted beautifully. I love the modest gradient they achieved because it gives the hair more depth in my opinion. (*’∀’人)♥

nendroid details 2

Now, ya’ll know that as much as I love my figures regardless, I am always looking at those T I N Y details because that’s how you know they were made with love. And by God, this Miku was made with a lot of love. Out of the nendroids I have seen and owned, this has some of the prettiest details. The tiny “01” on the gloves and the diamonds on the socks are what really stood out to me. Not to mention ruffles and the ribbons underneath the skirt. Those finer details are well worth the wait because it shows that GSC cares about their product. It makes my heart swell, I tell you what.

Overall, as I said before, this nendroid was worth the delays and worth the money.  I paid about $42 (¥4200) which isn’t awful at all and if you ever get the chance to buy one, DO IT. You will weeb so hard, I guarantee or your money back. Anyways, if you would like to see/hear my weeb and unbox this precious figure, go ahead and watch the video down below!

Anyways that is it for today! I hope you enjoyed today’s post and video; if you have any comments or questions in regards to nendroids or this specific nendroid in general, feel free to leave a comment down below! With that said, have a wonderful week ahead of you and I will see you all next time!

Thanks for Reading~! ❤

【HSANHE Korilakkuma RELAXED BEAR】Unboxing & Assemble + Video

Well, hello there.

Last week I went ahead and bought my first Micro Block project from a local Korean store that I’ve mentioned here on the blog before and it was definitely a challenge.

I’m not very familiar with building things aside from perler bead designs but this was too cute not to build and I though it would make a fun post and video combo. (ꐦ ´͈ ᗨ `͈ )

For those of you unaware; I love Korilakkuma and I love tea/coffee so Korilakkuma in a coffee cup was the most adorable thing I’ve seen and I immediately needed it in my life whether or not I had to build it. UNFORTUNATELY, I decided this would be a great idea to start building late at night…with an 8GB memory card and half battery life on my camera. So, my video was kind of split into two days. (ꐦ°᷄д°᷅)

Anyways, the box comes with 308 super tiny micro blocks, a stand, and a tool to help pull apart blocks when they’re difficult or in tight spaces. It also comes with instructions that are kind of like IKEA except SO MUCH MORE TINIER. But after you get the main foundation of the bear and cup together, it becomes much easier.

Overall, this project took me about 2 hours maybe? I didn’t exactly keep track of time but it didn’t take quite as long as I had imagined.

I will be buying another set to film this weekend…maybe I’ll go with a Crayon Shin-Chan set? ʕ ͠° ʖ̫ °͠ ʔ

I hope you guys enjoy the video and blog post!

Let me know how you guys enjoy the format of today’s video; would you rather just see the product being assembled or watch me react to assembling the product?? Leave a comment down below with you thoughts! (๑꒪̇⌄꒪̇๑)

Anyways, have a fantastic week and I will see you all next time!! (°◡°♡).:。

【初音ミク Project DIVA X -Complete Collection-】Unboxing + Video

Well hello!

It’s been a wee bit of a while, huh?

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of brainstorming and planning for the website and YouTube channel’s re-vamp. I’ve got a lot of changes to make but I know they will be for the better to enhance your experience here at Simply Taylor Rae. WITH THAT SAID…

A week ago, I ordered something from CDJapan and it finally arrived yesterday so I filmed and took pictures while unboxing it and OH MY GOD. It’s Miku Bae again. Sorry guys…

Project Diva Title

Yep, that’s right. I ordered「初音ミク Project DIVA X -Complete Collection-」 and I got the limited edition along with little to no regrets. It wasn’t too pricey either, so YAY. But like I said; I also did a video to go along with this post so that will be down below after all the pictures and what not!

Project Diva FB

The Collection is kept in a rather nice and high quality box compared to Project Mirai Deluxe box I got a while back. It’s not flimsy and the artwork (by KEI) is GORGEOUS. It’s easy to open and the artwork goes all the way around.

Project Diva Opening

As soon as you open the box, you’re greeting by the best freakin’ phone stand you’ve ever seen in your life. You also have the logo floating all over the inside of the box.

Project Diva Phone Stand

The phone stand is made of acrylic and very easy to assemble. It does it’s job well by holding your phone and it looks like Miku is waving to you to put your phone on her. I don’t know how I feel about that last statement, I’m so sorry. (シ_ _)シ But I actually really liked this little addition more than I thought I would. It’s so cute; I don’t know whether to bring it to work to be used or leave it at home with my other Miku stuff.

Project Diva Booklet

Underneath the phone stand lies a cute booklet filled with lyrics and incredibly adorable artwork for each song featured in Project DIVA X. I am definitely loving the illustration for “Love Trial.” (*’∀’人)♥

Project Diva CD

And finally we’ve reached the TREASURE of the box; the CDs & Blu-Ray. The front of the CD case is decorated with the same image featured on every piece of merchandise for this freakin’ game apparently…not that I mind, I find it quite adorable but it’s a tad redundant I suppose. The back of the case lists the songs featured on each CD as well as the PVs for the Blu-Ray. The case is quite thick since it holds 3 CDs which I am actually a bit surprised seeing as how the Project Mirai Deluxe box had a bunch of smaller cases…I guess it makes more sense like this.

Project Diva CD Art

The CD art also features the same exact artwork. Nothing new except that the CDs are one color whereas the Blu-Ray is the actual full-colored illustration. I have nothing to really say about these except THE MUSIC IS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT AND I AM FANGIRLING EXTREMELY HARD.

This video covers much of the same stuff; just with better commentary and you get to watch me fail putting together the phone stand. (੭ु ‾᷄ᗣ‾᷅ )੭ु⁾⁾

Project Diva Thanks

THIS WAS SUCH A LONG POST OMG. It was so worth it though. I love this box set so much and I’m glad I got to share the unboxing with you guys! If you purchased or planned on purchasing this item; leave a comment down below! I’d love to hear what you think of it!

I have a weekend trip coming up in two weeks, so I’ll be sure to either vlog or take pictures for you guys! I also plan to do an unboxing of another item soon, so stay tuned!

Thank you for reading~! ❤

SimplyMe: Finals, Birthdays, Reading, And WHAT!?

Hello everyone!
I cannot believe how lethargic I have been feeling lately. Actually, no. I can believe it because I’m neglecting my blog…whoops. Sorry guys. Right now, I am currently dealing with a full-time work schedule, homework, studying for next week’s finals, prepping for my final semester, and trying to get at least one day a week where I can just sleep in and rest. It’s proving difficult, but I am trying really hard to keep up! Just one more week!

Welp, yes. I am indeed studying for my Japanese and Oceanography finals next week and the struggle is real. I will be 100% honest: I suck at exams and I suck at science, so one of those subjects is a double whammy. I am trying my hardest to find any motivation possible to study, but then I think of something else and that becomes a priority. I have found ways to help me enjoy studying, but actually getting to study is most difficult. Le sigh…

turd bday

On a happier note, my little sister’s birthday was this past week and we ended up at Bahama Breeze in Woodbridge.  She turned 19 years old and we brought our family and her boyfriend’s family together! And guess what, the STR Crew’s Kyler was there! Huzzah.

Finally, I guess I will show you guys what I’ve been reading as of late! I was thinking about doing a separate post on this, but I have some other ideas floating in my head so I’ll show them to you now!

First up is “The Console Wars” by Blake J. Harris. Ever since I saw YouTuber, TheJWittz, tweet about this book, I was immediately intrigued. I am a huge video game fan and my favorite thing about video games is the history behind them as well as the easter eggs and glitches that plague them. “The Console Wars” focuses on the Sega v. Nintendo wars and although the book is pretty lengthy, it’s incredibly detailed and a fantastic read for all you gamer nerds. I highly recommend reading it!

Next is the manga 「きのこいぬ」or “Mushroom Pup”. Now, I had picked this up on a complete whim and I do not regret it. It’s far from my personal taste in manga, but it ended up being something new, refreshing, and ridiculously adorable. It’s a bit difficult to explain the premise, but I suggest reading it if you’re looking for a light comic.

Finally, I ended up picking up two copies of Otaku USA! Why? Because Sailor Moon is on the cover, duh. Why else would I purchase a magazine? Actually, I purchased it to showcase in my room…so I expect to frame it sometime soon. If I’m correct, this is the first US magazine cover Sailor Moon has graced since the original series arrived in America.

Well, that’s it for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed this little update on my incredibly overwhelming lifestyle. More intriguing posts are to come, I promised! As always though, I’d love to hear what you think so feel free to comment down below and if you’d like to recommend post ideas, please hit the contact button above. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and like every week…

Sailor Moon Crystal Reaction & Videos

Well hello there!
Holy crap! I haven’t posted in over a week. I’m so sorry everyone! It’s been ridiculously busy lately and to top everything off…my car decided it needed a tuneup this week, so I had been taking care of that and what not. But hey, I’m a full-time student and a full-time employee now. Whoop. That’s been my life in a nutshell as of late.

P.S. This Post will Feature Spoilers!

SMC Reaction

Anyways, in case you haven’t read my previous Sailor Moon posts or looked at any of my social media accounts…SAILOR MOON CRYSTAL FINALLY PREMIERED and my life has been changed for the better. Two years after the initial announcement and a year’s worth of delay we finally got the reboot we’ve been waiting for on Saturday and yes, my amazing friend and newest member of the STR Crew, Ambrozine, decided we would film our initial reaction! So, you should watch it:

Seeing as how it’s been a few days since the premier, I’ve found myself in a calm position to tell you all why I thought this reboot was fantastic.

First of all, let me take you back to when we had received the artwork teasers.

shoujo legs

And I loved it.

There are a lot of people who would beg to differ, but the artwork was gorgeous to me. It was modern and sharp, bright and bold and most of all…it was different. I remember reading the initial announcement regarding the anime and the one thing that stood out the most was that Sailor Moon Crystal was not a remake, but rather a reboot that was meant to stand alone from the original 90’s series. And the artwork reflected just that.

Afterwards, I had nothing but high hopes and expectations.

Next thing you know, July 5th has arrived and the world premier of Sailor Moon Crystal had begun. I’ll admit, I had a minor fear: “What if it’s not as good as I hope?” “What if it is only hype and it turns out to be everything I hated about anime?” But, I managed to keep an open mind, once again reminding myself that this is to stand apart from the original.

And holy crap, it did.

The animation was everything I had seen and much more. The background music was glorious, the opening theme was glorious, the ending theme was glorious. IT WAS ALL JUST SO FREAKIN’ GLORIOUS. I couldn’t contain my excitement for what I was seeing! It really did appear as it had in the manga and all the small details as well such as the star locket or Mamoru’s tuxedo when he and Usagi first meet. The title cards are so ridiculously gorgeous, I want to tattoo all of them to my soul.

The only thing that I was kind of hit me in a weird way was the transformation sequence. I wasn’t sure about the whole CG kind of deal…I mean, it wasn’t bad but I don’t suppose I was expecting it either. I know there are a lot of people who are really upset about it, but it’s just a sequence that will be shortened anyhow. It doesn’t make or break the series. BOOM.

I thought I’d just drop this off here! Our good friend, Roger from Tainted Reality, has recently uploaded two new Sailor Moon videos, but this one is a definite watch for those of us who were SM Fans since the 90’s! So go ahead and give it a watch and his review of SMC Act 1!

So, there you have it! My reaction to the premier of Sailor Moon Crystal. And hey, a new video on the STR YT Channel…can you tell I’m attempting to be productive?? Anyways, I’d really enjoy hearing your thoughts on today’s post or your thoughts/feelings about Sailor Moon Crystal in the comments down below! Also, if you’d like to suggest ideas for future posts, click on the contact button above and fill out the form, por favor!

I hope you all have a fantastic week, be safe and all that stuff and just for giggles…

So Much News & 2 Years! ~STR 2nd Blogiversary~

so much news

Hello Everyone!
I cannot believe it has been two years since I’ve purchased the domain to Simply Taylor Rae…it’s really emotional for me. When I had begun blogging, I never expected things to happen the way they have. In two years, I have gained thousands of blog views, close to a hundred followers, and so many readers. But that’s not just it.

This blog has taught me so much: website design, photography and photo editing, writing and journalism, business handling, and much more. I also learned so much about myself. Simply Taylor Rae is just as the title states: It’s simply me. Everything I enjoy is here. This is my outlet to the world – to display my love of everything fashionable, beautiful, geeky, and food. It seemed like an odd mix, but it was me and that was the most important factor for myself.

And in two years, I already feel successful. I’ve written over 100 posts. I’ve talked to so many people and bloggers. I’ve had opportunities I never dreamed of prior to starting this journey. I’ve made some close friends and I’ve seen so much support from the friends that were there from the start. My family has shown so much love and support and they have proven to be my biggest fans. And my fiancé, Anthony. He was the one who helped me begin this amazing chapter of my life. He has coached me through the process of making it, editing it, photography, and graphics. He has also encouraged me to do what I feel is best and to always remain myself in the process.

But, the success of a blog always falls on the readers. So to all of you who have followed STR from the very beginning or even as of recently; Thank You. From the bottom of my heart. You all have encouraged me to continue and I am truly grateful.

Sorry to get all emotional and what not, I may have teared up a little bit while writing that! Ahhhh!

I suppose I should tell you all the news, yes?

First Off: If you don’t remember me mentioning last year that I wanted to get back into singing, WELP. I am. I’m currently in the process of putting together songs and then I will be in the process of making my own little mini-album of covers!

Secondly: I will be doing a weekly installment of my adventures in Animal Crossing: New Leaf! I’ve been wanting to do this for a year now and I am finally going to do it! So, I hope you all enjoy that when it debuts!

Third: My YouTube channel will definitely be more active with the following videos: “The Geeky: YT Series” “STR Dances” “SimpleMe: Vlogs” “STR Ultimate Lookbook” & “The Initial Reaction: YT Series”

Fourth: More Anime & Gaming Convention Coverage. Yes, I plan to attend as many of the local conventions as financially possible and cover them for you guys! I did this with Katsucon and I hope to do plenty more.

And Finally!: I have been in talks with Geoff & Griffon Ramsey from the wildly popular Gaming Forum/Site: RoosterTeeth.Com and although I don’t want to give out too much information quite yet…I can tell you that awesome plans are being made. So, please look out for that when it becomes available…

SIMPLY TAYLOR RAE HAD THE CHANCE TO INTERVIEW THEM. So, that will be up later this week!!! I PROMISE!!

So, that is it for today! I hope you all enjoyed this post and I hope it gets you excited for the next year ahead of us!
