【初音ミクスイートパンプキンねんどろいどこ〜で】 Review + Video

Hey everyone!

I had made my first pre-order with Good Smile Company a while back and it finally arrived last weekend. Granted, I had intended on making this post a bit earlier but it was a stressful and busy week at work so I didn’t get time to plan like I intended. Anyways, here’s my review of the Hatsune Miku Sweet Pumpkin Nendroid Co-de!

My order with Good Smile Company went incredibly well and their customer service is very responsive and courteous. I had an issue where my bank sent me a new credit card without notifying me so I had to change a lot of things including this item. Good Smile Company answered my questions and assured me that once it came time to pay, it’ll be an easy process and it indeed was. Once she was shipped off, I received the box within 3 days and was thrilled to know she was packed firmly. I was very very happy and very very excited.

After unboxing this adorable figure, I immediately fell in love with the details. I’ve only had one Nendroid prior and although it was adorable, it didn’t have as many details as this.  The hair is painted and shaded so incredibly and the candy on the hem of her skirt is A+ to the max. The only qualm I have is that in the photo used for reference, there were tiny bits and pieces in her hair that I adored, but I understand why they were left out.

One thing I did notice, granted I have never owned a Nendroid Co-de before, is that they don’t come with extra face plates or extra arms for different poses. It’s a little upsetting but now it makes sense why the Nendroid Co-de figures are cheaper than actual Nendroids. If I am correct though, Nendroid Co-de figures are meant to kind of mix and match with one another…but you can do that with regular Nendroid figures to an extent, so please! Correct me if I am incorrect…

Overall though, I am so thrilled with my purchase and I would totally suggest that people get this Nendroid if they can find it! I honestly like this module better than the Halloween Miku released during Miku Expo so it was great compensation for missing out on that release. I adore her and I am so happy to add her to my Vocaloid collection!

If you’d like to see me unboxing this figure and assembling her, please watch the video below!

And that wraps it up for this post today! I hope you all enjoyed it and I hope to be back soon with something fun and exciting. If you have a Nendroid or a Nendroid Co-de, leave a comment down below on how you like it or if you have any suggestions on pre-orders! Have a fantastic Sunday and an awesome week guys and I will see you next time!

Thanks for Reading~! ❤

【初音ミク Project DIVA X -Complete Collection-】Unboxing + Video

Well hello!

It’s been a wee bit of a while, huh?

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of brainstorming and planning for the website and YouTube channel’s re-vamp. I’ve got a lot of changes to make but I know they will be for the better to enhance your experience here at Simply Taylor Rae. WITH THAT SAID…

A week ago, I ordered something from CDJapan and it finally arrived yesterday so I filmed and took pictures while unboxing it and OH MY GOD. It’s Miku Bae again. Sorry guys…

Project Diva Title

Yep, that’s right. I ordered「初音ミク Project DIVA X -Complete Collection-」 and I got the limited edition along with little to no regrets. It wasn’t too pricey either, so YAY. But like I said; I also did a video to go along with this post so that will be down below after all the pictures and what not!

Project Diva FB

The Collection is kept in a rather nice and high quality box compared to Project Mirai Deluxe box I got a while back. It’s not flimsy and the artwork (by KEI) is GORGEOUS. It’s easy to open and the artwork goes all the way around.

Project Diva Opening

As soon as you open the box, you’re greeting by the best freakin’ phone stand you’ve ever seen in your life. You also have the logo floating all over the inside of the box.

Project Diva Phone Stand

The phone stand is made of acrylic and very easy to assemble. It does it’s job well by holding your phone and it looks like Miku is waving to you to put your phone on her. I don’t know how I feel about that last statement, I’m so sorry. (シ_ _)シ But I actually really liked this little addition more than I thought I would. It’s so cute; I don’t know whether to bring it to work to be used or leave it at home with my other Miku stuff.

Project Diva Booklet

Underneath the phone stand lies a cute booklet filled with lyrics and incredibly adorable artwork for each song featured in Project DIVA X. I am definitely loving the illustration for “Love Trial.” (*’∀’人)♥

Project Diva CD

And finally we’ve reached the TREASURE of the box; the CDs & Blu-Ray. The front of the CD case is decorated with the same image featured on every piece of merchandise for this freakin’ game apparently…not that I mind, I find it quite adorable but it’s a tad redundant I suppose. The back of the case lists the songs featured on each CD as well as the PVs for the Blu-Ray. The case is quite thick since it holds 3 CDs which I am actually a bit surprised seeing as how the Project Mirai Deluxe box had a bunch of smaller cases…I guess it makes more sense like this.

Project Diva CD Art

The CD art also features the same exact artwork. Nothing new except that the CDs are one color whereas the Blu-Ray is the actual full-colored illustration. I have nothing to really say about these except THE MUSIC IS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT AND I AM FANGIRLING EXTREMELY HARD.

This video covers much of the same stuff; just with better commentary and you get to watch me fail putting together the phone stand. (੭ु ‾᷄ᗣ‾᷅ )੭ु⁾⁾

Project Diva Thanks

THIS WAS SUCH A LONG POST OMG. It was so worth it though. I love this box set so much and I’m glad I got to share the unboxing with you guys! If you purchased or planned on purchasing this item; leave a comment down below! I’d love to hear what you think of it!

I have a weekend trip coming up in two weeks, so I’ll be sure to either vlog or take pictures for you guys! I also plan to do an unboxing of another item soon, so stay tuned!

Thank you for reading~! ❤

Travel Diaries: Miku Expo & NYC

I’m back from New York and oh boy, do I have a lot to tell you guys!

For those who didn’t know; I traveled 4 hours up the road to New York for Miku Expo and it was an amazing trip. I originally planned to vlog it but unfortunately, Anthony couldn’t find his camera and I didn’t want to carry my big camera all around the city, so I just decided blogging it would be best. SO TA-DA.

miku expo title

This was definitely a more prepared trip than when we attended back in 2014. We secured our train tickets a bit closer to home rather than from D.C. and we also booked a hotel room right beside the concert venue since I would be walking back to the hotel by myself. I also anticipated spending a lot of money on merchandise and goods, so I prepped that as well. I’ll start this blog from the beginning of Saturday morning…⁽(◍˃̵͈̑ᴗ˂̵͈̑)⁽

miku expo train

Saturday morning; Anthony and I were awake by 5:30 to get showered and dressed as well as to finish packing for the overnight stay. It was definitely an off morning for me; I forgot a lot of Miku Gear I wanted to wear and I almost left behind my phone charger which was crucial. But I managed to bring everything necessary for the trip and we made it to the train station a bit ahead of time.

Honestly, the train ride wasn’t as bad as the last time. We arrived only 15 minutes late because of engine problems during the switch from diesel fuel to electric, so I had plenty of time to explore NYC with a friend.

miku expo minny

And of course that friend just so happened to be Minuettee from Twitch! We’ve been friends since around the time after I started streaming and I absolutely adore this cutie-patootie. She showed me around NYC and took me to Starbucks (of course, because we are so freakin’ classy omg), Skylight Diner, Macaron Cafe, and Midtown Comics! We also chatted on Skype with our friends and I was so excited to finally be with Minny~! ꒰♡ˊ͈ ु꒳ ूˋ͈꒱.⑅*♡ She also took me on my first NYC cab ride…it was so interesting but I felt like I lived such a sheltered life; everything seemed so new and it was like more culture shock. (∗॔꒪⺫ॢ꒪)

miku expo concert 1

miku expo concert 2

After taking me on my first cab ride, Minny and I sat in the VIP line for about 2 hours or so where we chatted with other fans including a couple employees from Good Smile Company in Japan. To be honest; Miku fans are some of the nicest fans I’ve ever met. It’s an incredible sight to see so many people from different backgrounds coming together for one concert.

Anyways, around 6:30 we were able to go into the venue where we received our VIP bags and got early access to the merch table. Speaking of which; Minny and I had a plan. Minny would go secure a location as close to the front as possible and I would go purchase the merchandise. The plan was successful and we actually had a good spot; but we are so freakin’ short and the people in front of us just so happened to be really tall but they were nice enough to move around so we could see.

So the concert started with the opening band, Anamanaguchi, and they did a phenomenal job getting the crowd pumped and ready to go. I wish I had taken pictures during their set but I was honestly jumping up and down have a blast. They had a relatively short set, but it was amazing. After Anamanaguchi performed; within minutes the opening animation began and Miku popped up with “The World is Mine” and the entire audience ERUPTED with 「世界で一番お姫さま!」(Sekai de ichiban ohime sama!) and it was on from there. There were so many awesome songs played but I think my favorites were “Remote Control” by Rin and Len, “Ten Thousand Stars” by Miku, and “Sharing the World” by Miku and Anamanaguchi. It was an emotional rollercoaster and at the end during “Star Fragment” I looked over at Minny and we just hugged each other. Miku Expo has always been a positive experience for me and to see it again and feel so much excitement and to sing loud and obnoxiously and wave glow sticks around…it was such a happy feeling inside of me and I wish it never had to end.

With that said; the concert was beautiful and amazing and I am hoping that another one will be around in the future. We ended up leaving the venue around 10:50 or 11pm and headed to CVS to pick up some snacks and drinks. After that, Minny and I parted ways sadly and I went to my hotel room and passed out.

miku expo after

The next morning, Anthony and I woke up fairly early to explore NYC before heading to our train back to VA. It was a lot of fun; we got pancakes and Starbucks while attempting to find the Disney store. Needless to say we didn’t find it, but we found a cool gaming store in the area and I ended up buying something from it…har har. We ended up just heading to the hotel to get our stuff, check out and wait at the train station until our train arrived.

And that pretty much sums up our entire trip…(๑́•∀•๑̀)ฅ

miku expo thanks

Thanks for sticking around with that long post…I was so excited to share the trip with you guys! I’ll be posting a video and a haul post tomorrow hopefully if all goes well! As for today I am going to call it a night but I wanted to say a huge thank you to Minny for taking me around NYC and making my Miku Expo experience amazing. ❤ I’ll see you guys next time!!!!

We Review: Omakase FINAL BOX Vocaloid Edition

Well hello hello!

How are you all doing today? I hope you’re well and rested and healthy!!!!! I am really feeling the exhaustion today, but I did do something that I’ve been wanting to do for a while…I GOT A NEW TATTOO!

I absolutely adore it you guys. A huge thank you to Jon at Dark Horse Tattoo for taking me in last minute and doing a beautiful job in such a short amount of time! I don’t know what to name her though…I kind of want to call her Serendipity for some reason…but I don’t think that makes sense…(*´ェ`*) ANYWAYS…

I was able to get my hands on the final Omakase Subscription box which just so happened to be Vocaloid themed and I wanted to share my experience with you all as always.

DISCLAIMER: We were not asked nor sponsored by Viewster for this review. The subscription was paid for entirely by us. Thank you for your understanding.

Omakase Title

Let me just say; I am really impressed with this subscription box and it’s honestly a huge shame that this was the final release for Omakase. However, they went out with a BANG. I am glad to have subscribed although it was only for one box…(⌯˃̶᷄ ﹏ ˂̶᷄⌯)゚

Omakase Belt

Let’s start off with this AMAZING piece of Cosplay gear! Say hello to the Rin and Len Omakase Exclusive Cosplay belt WITH a matching strap so you can cosplay Banana Son or Orange Daughter…YES I MADE NICKNAMES FOR THEM. I haven’t actually had a chance to wear them yet, but I am planning on wearing it to Miku Expo next month along with the tons of other gear I will be sporting…

Omakase Keychain

Look at this chubby little keychain. I LOVE IT. This is the Hatsune Miku Omakase Exclusive Squishable Plush Keychain! (That was a mouthful) It’s a very soft, fleece material and it’s really really adorable. I love how high quality this keychain is because I’ve been running into a lot of cheap products, so this was such a pleasant surprise!

Omakase Shirt

AHHHHHHH. The main reason I subscribed for this box. This gorgeous Hatsune Miku Omakase Exclusive t-shirt. It’s amazingly cute, colorful…and dare I say…Kawaii. This shirt is a really nice quality and very comfortable to wear but I ran into a slight issue with mine. When I subscribed for the box, I could’ve sworn they ask you for either a men’s or women’s t-shirt and what size you’d prefer. So when I ordered mine, I got a Ladies Large…but when I tried it on…it seemed to be a men’s large. ( ´•̥ו̥` ) So I guess it has to be used as a sleep shirt because it looks horribly big on me. Aside from the size issue, however, I really do love this shirt and wish I could wear it out.

Omakase Paper Goods

One way to a Taylor’s heart…ADD STICKERS TO YOUR SUBSCRIPTION BOXES. I really like stationary goods you guys. And it’s Vocaloid. #RIPME The stickers are really cute and pastel…plus LEN IS SLEEPING ON A BANANA. My heart. Along with the stickers were a Postcard/Menu providing details on all of the products you received and a cute comic book featuring adorable artwork from amazing artists like Kaiami!

Omakase Poster

And finally, we have the queen; MEIKO! Omakase dropped in a really accurate portrayal of MEIKO in poster form and I love it. It’s not a huge poster so it’ll fit in most spaces I assume. I’m not too sure if I’ll hang mine up since I’m not much of a drinker…but HEY! MEIKO is…hardy har har. ∗˚(* ˃̤൬˂̤ *)˚∗

And that’s the end. Honestly, this box was such a wonderful surprise and it sucks that Viewster will no longer continue the Omakase subscription service but I’m really happy that they were very loving towards to the final box with such amazing, high quality, and cute products. If you received any of the Omakase subscription boxes; what did you get and did you enjoy it? Let me know in the comments below! I’m going to call it night! So have a great rest of the weekend and have an awesome week you guys!

Miku Expo 2014 & New York Haul

‘Ello ‘Ello!

I hope you all enjoyed the photo journal of our time in New York at Miku Expo! If you couldn’t tell, we had a freakin’ blast!! Although our time in New York was relatively short we still managed to pick up a few items that I thought we’d share with you all! All of the items were purchased by us with no discount offered or given.

I had and intended to purchase more items, however many things were sold out. Things like the Halloween Miku Nendroid and a lot of the concert merchandise. The items listed were the few remaining concert merchandise, exclusives of the VIP package, or purchased from f.y.e.

This was one of the two items Anthony had purchased for me when we first entered the venue. This shirt was a Miku Expo exclusive with a chibi anime design. Anthony was able to get it in a size medium since the small was already sold out. It’s actually quite a quality screen print and is comfortable to wear with jeans and sneakers/boots. It wasn’t too outrageously priced either at $25.

Miku Keychain

Here is the other item Anthony was able to purchase. It has the same chibi design as the t-shirt, only this time it is fully colored. I love the gold metal. It gives the keychain an overall classier look than a silver chain. Along with the picture of Miku, there is a metal “M” beside the picture that has a tiny rhinestone at the bottom. This was also reasonably priced at $10 I believe.

This was an item that came exclusively with the VIP package for the concert.  It is a functional record with the Miku Expo theme song “Sharing the World”.  Along with both the chibi anime art design on theback and, onthefront, the Miku Expo theme design. Since I don’t have a record player, I will more than likely frame this and hang it or put it on display.

VIP Badge

Another VIP exclusive that was given to us at the end of the show. Nothing much to say except it will be hung up on display.

The final item included in the VIP package was a Miku Expo Fan. It is made with fabric rather than flimsy paper making it a bit more longer lasting. The artwork featured is different than that used for other merchandise, but it is still incredible to look at. I will also be placing this on display.

Rin and Len

These are actually a funny story. Anthony predicted that a lot of the items, if not all, would be sold out by the end of the concert and holy crap he was right. All they had left were Rin & Len plushes which I bought three: 2 Rin & 1 Len. The second Rin is for a friend who couldn’t go to the concert and the other two are currently being displayed on my lovely desk. They were quite expensive at $20 a plush, but hey…you only get Miku Expo exclusives once in a lifetime right? Maybe? Yes?

This was actually a post-concert pick up in DC. We had about 45 minutes before we were picked up from the train station, so we made our way back to f.y.e.. I decided to purchase a Miku lanyard to make up for the lack of items I bought in New York. It’s quite cute with a chibi Miku design along with the logo. I am currently hanging it from my car/house keys. I believe it was $8, so not too terrible I suppose.

SM Keychain

Despite the Miku Madness I was facing I managed to purchase something Sailor Moon! This is the Moon Stick rubber keychain and I found it ridiculously adorable…so I bought it for about $6. It is currently hanging on my new backpack. I always loved the Moon Stick in the anime and so I think this will work quite well.

Welp, that’s everything I bought in the 24 hours that I was traveling! I hope you all enjoyed today’s post and I am dying to hear what you all thought of yesterday’s and today’s posts! If you went to Miku Expo in LA or NY feel free to leave a comment in either post down below! Let me know what you thought and if you weren’t able to attend I am willing to answer any questions you all may have. If you would like to suggest topics for future posts, please hit the “contact” button above and fill out the form! As always, have a great week/weekend and like always…

Miku Expo 2014 Photo Journal

If you are unable to tell already; we are back from Miku Expo in New York~! We weren’t able to attend Wallplay due to a delay with our train in Delaware, but we definitely made it to the concert. We were able to get a few pictures throughout the day for you all!

Miku Expo

I will warn you before I show you all of the pictures: this was my first trip to New York where I was able to actually walk around the city. As such some photos may come off a bit touristy and what not so please bare with me.

We all woke up around 7am to get ready for the train that was leaving at 11. The ride to DC was rather uneventful, and my brother and father were super awesome taking us and dropping us off at Union Station. Because we arrived about an hour before our train departed, and we are never in the area, we decided to walk around and check out the shops. Surprisingly enough, we found an f.y.e filled with awesome merchandise from Sailor Moon keychains and even Hatsune Miku lanyards.

Once it was time to board we met an older gentleman who helped explain the boarding procedure. We ended up having a pleasant conversation with him for a few minutes. Once we were boarding and seated, we got as comfortable as possible for the 3.5 hour ride to New York Penn Station.

For most of the ride Anthony and I were either asleep, looking at passing towns and cities, or on our phones. There were certainly some picturesque views with some even leaving me speechless. We managed to grab something to eat on the train; a vegan barbecue burger and fresh fruit. The burger was meh; filled with loads of sodium and preservatives. However, the fruit was delicious and managed to hit the spot. Unfortunately, we ended up with a 20-30 minute delay due to rail work in Delaware.

When we arrived, we already knew Wallplay was out of the question which wasn’t too painful because they managed to sell out of the Halloween Nendroid I wanted to try and get my hands on. So what did we decide would be the next best thing to do? White Castle. So classy, right? It didn’t really whet my appetite, but as a White Castle first-timer Anthony seemed to have enjoyed it. Afterwards we just walked around the area looking at a few shoe shops and made our way back to Penn Station to purchase our tickets to New Jersey and then headed towards Hammerstein Ballroom.

Concert Lines

We made it to Hammerstein Ballroom with a little less than 2.5 hours to spare and wait in line. When we initially arrived we looked at the line to the left and were immediately frightened. The line was huge and making its way toward the next block. Thankfully Anthony had the common sense to ask a Miku Staff member where the VIP line was… It was to the right and significantly shorter. After they gave us our yellow VIP wrist bands, we made our way over and proceeded to wait in line for about 30 minutes. During the wait we found two fellow fans who attended the previous night. I asked them if they felt the concert was worth it and they said it was indeed. One thing I noticed was that the film crew from the original Miku Expo in Indonesia was filming interviews and shots of the line, so maybe we’ll appear in the next “Road to Miku Expo”?! After about 25 minutes of waiting, VIP was allowed early entrance and we made our way inside.

The minute we stepped into the building we were greeted by Miku Staff. And in a surprising twist the Simply Taylor Rae cartoon logo recognized by the lovely lady running the Miku Expo twitter account. She told us thanks for tweeting and sharing about the event so much. We handed her my business card and they handed us our Miku Expo/Good Smile Company grab bags with the exclusive Miku Expo glowsticks. Finally, made our way inside the ballroom.

When we entered we immediately made our way to the front, as close to the railing as possible. We actually got quite an awesome view and I was in heaven. After we found our spot Anthony took a few moments to go and purchase a few items before they sold out and came back. Two hours later of listening to the same three songs, the Sega chant and beating Anthony up with my glow stick…the show began! And what a freakin’ concert! It was everything I dreamed it would be: Amazing special effects, awesome band, a wonderful and huge crowd of incredible fans, and Miku Love all around. The songs were the typical songs of MikuPa concerts circa 2011-2012 with the few exceptions of “Sharing the World” by Bighead, “Parades” by whoo, “Just Be Friends (English)” by Dixie Flatline, and “Glass Wall” by GuitarHeroPianoZero. We danced to “PoPiPo” and “Himitsu Keisatsu” and swayed to “Starduster.” By the end of the show, I was sweating, my arm was exhausted from the glow stick movements and I was on the verge of tears. After the encore Anthony and I made our way out to pick up our VIP packages from the same lady who recognized us earlier. We managed to also pick up some Rin & Len plush dolls. Then we did the unthinkable…went to McDonalds and waited for our train to New Jersey to arrive.

See You

Well, that is it! This ended up being a ridiculously long post but I feel like I owe you all something of quality after being away for quite a bit. I will have another Miku Expo post up tomorrow which will focus on my haul from the day so please stay tuned to that! I really want to know if any of you went to Miku Expo in either LA, Jarkarta, or NY and hear your thoughts! Did you enjoy it? Did it meet your expectations? Feel free to comment down below and if you would like to suggest topics for future posts, please hit the “Contact” button above and fill out the form! I hope you all enjoyed this post and as always…
