Hatsune Miku Expo-tations Part 2

Hey guys, look!
Yes, I am back with the second portion of my Miku Expo-tations! (Sorry for the pun…) Today, I am sharing my expectations for the Hatsune Miku concert…but before that, I guess I’ll catch you up with life! Today is the first day of fall semester and I already dislike it! The frustration that comes with a community college filled with jerks and obnoxious people is too much to handle. Aside from that, I’ve just been working and playing a lot of Pokemon. Now that we are caught up, let’s start.

When it comes to Vocaloid concerts I have high expectations. I recently watched the Magical Mirai 2013 concert. It was ridiculously phenomenal and so real, and yet still carried the cartoonish look that people go to see. I am expecting some awesome stuff you guys don’t even know.

song list

Oh yes. I am not too sure what to expect with the song list. In the documentary, they tried to create a song list that will tailor to Indonesian fans specifically. For an American audience, we may not get the same song list and that is perfectly fine with me because I know songs that I would really like to hear that have appeared in only one or two concerts. While others have appeared in close to every concert.
“Senbonzakura (千本桜)” Miku
This song is ridiculously fun to dance to and I feel like it would really get the crowd pumped. If Miku uses the fans this time it would be even more fun by adding audience participation to it.
“shake it!” Miku, Len, & Rin
Len break dances and the song is awesome. Need I say more?
“Pane Dhiria” KAITO
KAITO’s kick flip. Once again, self-explanatory.
“Leia” Luka
I think this song is so great for Luka but isn’t the typical concert song for her. The song also adds a soft rock feel that I was loving during Magical Mirai. They should definitely bring it back.
“Tell Your World (English)” Miku
I have a gut feeling that this will be included in the song list primarily because in Indonesia, they added “Venus di Ujung Jari” into the song list. Also, livetune plays a huge part in the Miku concerts so I am expecting this to play. If it doesn’t I’ll be surprised.
“1/6 -out of the gravity-” Miku
No reason. I just like it a lot.
“Himitsu Keisatsu (秘密警察)” Miku
Once again, it adds a lot of audience participation and I’m pretty sure the North American audience are familiar with this gem of a song. Also, it’s quite catchy…
“Hello, Planet. (ハロー、プラネット。)” Miku
This song is ridiculously adorable and adds more audience participation. Plus, I know the dance that goes with it and I want to show Anthony that learning it was not a vain effort.
“Piano x Forte x Scandal” MEIKO
Aside from the fact that I love this song it seems to be the only way/song they can include MEIKO in.
“Sweet Magic (スイートマジック)” Rin
This is actually a song that has not made its way into the concerts yet, so I feel that it would be super awesome and new for Rin, but still give the feeling that “Melancholic” did since it’s also made by Junky.

For costumes, I’m expecting the traditional outfit, of course, but it’s hard to tell if certain songs will display the costume changes with it. So, here are the costumes I’d like to see for the songs I’m hoping:

As for available merchandise; I’m thinking concert tees, merchandise, CDs, DVDs, and other things typical for Miku concerts. There will probably be some items that you can buy either at the concert or the exhibit, but it’s hard to tell since the exhibit and concert are being held in two different places.

JUST A REMINDER: Anthony and I will be attending Day Two of Miku Expo in NY. If you see us, be sure to stop and say hi! We’d love to meet our readers!!

Hatsune Miku Expo-tations Part 1

Hey hey ladies and possibly gents?
Sorry for the long wait! I can gladly say that finals week is over and I had a one week summer vacation. It’s been such a demanding couple of months between a full-time work schedule and a full-time student schedule, but I am slowly building back the motivation to keep the posts coming!

Anyways, Anthony and I are super excited for October! In case you can’t read the title or haven’t even looked at any of Simply Taylor Rae’s social media accounts…we are just 2 months away from Miku Expo in NYC!!! We have our trip locked in and ready to go and today we just got news regarding the Art Exhibition. We will be documenting our trip to NYC which includes the traveling, the art exhibition, the concert, and the bank-breaking haul I’m sure to purchase. BUT, like everything I look forward to…I have a few expectations and that is the topic for today!

ALSO! I’m going to have to split this post up into two since they are exceptionally long! So, for today I am talking about my expectations for the Art Exhibit at Wallplay!

Just in case you’re wondering where I’m basing my expectations off of…it’s this mini-documentary for the Miku Expo is Indonesia.

I am super excited for the art exhibition because I am expecting A LOT of goodies to be sold, also possible sneak peaks at the two new NA releases: Project Diva F 2nd & Project Mirai Remixed, and a look at next year’s Nendroid and Figurine releases. Speaking of Nendroid…

Crypton just announced that there will be a special Halloween Nendroid release specifically for the LA & NY Miku Expos. It will be available for sale at the exhibit locations although a price was not disclosed. The Nendroid will be modeled after the above artwork by Suoh. You can best believe I am getting my hands on one…or I will attempt to do so.

Aside from that, I am definitely expecting Karent to have music samples and apps for us to try out and possibly download. I am also expecting a sneak peak or even goodies from the recently announced tokidoki x Hatsune Miku collaboration. For those of you who don’t know, tokidoki was my first brand name bag. They hold a special place in my heart and I am very excited to see this collaboration hopefully in person. I am also hoping they will have the Rin and Len POP Funko figures there. I am desperately hoping we get some NA game play sneak peaks for Project Mirai Remixed. Lastly, I am expecting a lot of Miku Expo exclusives and Japan only exclusives to be present and for sale.

(Guess how broke I’m going to be.)

Also, you should be expecting a beauty post soon on my skin care routine for oily skin. I’m using a lot more products than usual…sigh. I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! SimplyMe: Finals, Birthdays, Reading, And WHAT!?

Hello everyone!
I cannot believe how lethargic I have been feeling lately. Actually, no. I can believe it because I’m neglecting my blog…whoops. Sorry guys. Right now, I am currently dealing with a full-time work schedule, homework, studying for next week’s finals, prepping for my final semester, and trying to get at least one day a week where I can just sleep in and rest. It’s proving difficult, but I am trying really hard to keep up! Just one more week!

Welp, yes. I am indeed studying for my Japanese and Oceanography finals next week and the struggle is real. I will be 100% honest: I suck at exams and I suck at science, so one of those subjects is a double whammy. I am trying my hardest to find any motivation possible to study, but then I think of something else and that becomes a priority. I have found ways to help me enjoy studying, but actually getting to study is most difficult. Le sigh…

turd bday

On a happier note, my little sister’s birthday was this past week and we ended up at Bahama Breeze in Woodbridge.  She turned 19 years old and we brought our family and her boyfriend’s family together! And guess what, the STR Crew’s Kyler was there! Huzzah.

Finally, I guess I will show you guys what I’ve been reading as of late! I was thinking about doing a separate post on this, but I have some other ideas floating in my head so I’ll show them to you now!

First up is “The Console Wars” by Blake J. Harris. Ever since I saw YouTuber, TheJWittz, tweet about this book, I was immediately intrigued. I am a huge video game fan and my favorite thing about video games is the history behind them as well as the easter eggs and glitches that plague them. “The Console Wars” focuses on the Sega v. Nintendo wars and although the book is pretty lengthy, it’s incredibly detailed and a fantastic read for all you gamer nerds. I highly recommend reading it!

Next is the manga 「きのこいぬ」or “Mushroom Pup”. Now, I had picked this up on a complete whim and I do not regret it. It’s far from my personal taste in manga, but it ended up being something new, refreshing, and ridiculously adorable. It’s a bit difficult to explain the premise, but I suggest reading it if you’re looking for a light comic.

Finally, I ended up picking up two copies of Otaku USA! Why? Because Sailor Moon is on the cover, duh. Why else would I purchase a magazine? Actually, I purchased it to showcase in my room…so I expect to frame it sometime soon. If I’m correct, this is the first US magazine cover Sailor Moon has graced since the original series arrived in America.

Well, that’s it for today’s post! I hope you enjoyed this little update on my incredibly overwhelming lifestyle. More intriguing posts are to come, I promised! As always though, I’d love to hear what you think so feel free to comment down below and if you’d like to recommend post ideas, please hit the contact button above. I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and like every week…
