Hello Loves & All!
Ah, yes. Summer is upon us and I am not enjoying it too much, I must admit. Today, I was out on a coffee date with a lovely friend of mine and we decided to sit outside…worst mistake ever. I forgot about sunscreen and now my face and arms are incredibly red! Argh, but at least my Iced Green Tea Latte was to die for. But, typing this post is difficult and slightly painful…NO PAIN WILL STOP ME EVER!!! Anyways, recently I have been on this lemon water drinking spree. Like, if I go out to eat I will always order warm water with lemon or if I’m bored at home, instead of eating I will drink lemon water. Since then, I have been wanting to do a lemon beauty recipe post! So…here it is!Let us talk about lemons in general for a moment. Why are they so good for our skin? Well, lemons are rich in vitamin C and B vitamin complex as well as the mineral phosphorus. Therefore, it’s good for you internally and externally! The vitamin C in lemons speeds up the cell turnover process and the acidity acts as an antiseptic and is great for killing bacteria and allowing your skin to heal. However, if you have sensitive skin, please limit the use of lemon on your skin. By limit, I mean use it in between long periods of time. Lemons can cause sensitive skin to become inflamed or irritated, so please be careful! This recipe is from Beautylish user Victoria Stanell! This recipe is designed to help with those pesky acne mark, help your skin protect itself, and the honey will also work as an antiseptic and hydrates the skin.
2 Tablespoons of Organic Honey
4 Teaspoons of Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
3 Teaspoons Plain Greek Yogurt
1 Egg White
Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl until the consistency is nice and thick. Apply small amount to a clean, dry face and let it sit for about 15 minutes. Gently wash off with warm water and pat dry. Make sure to save the rest for other people in your family or if you want to use it within the same week! This was a random recipe I found while googling and I thought it seemed really refreshing and easy! It uses 3 common household foods: bananas, honey, and our lovely lemons! The bananas leave our skin nice and smooth while the lemon helps fade acne and the honey is a natural antiseptic.
1 Ripe Banana, Blended
1 Tablespoon of Honey
1 Tablespoon of Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
I feel like a lot of these recipes are put together the same way…THROW IT IN THE MIXING BOWL. Mix, Mix, Mix! BOOM!! Put it on your nice clean and dry face. Let it stay for 15 minutes!! Then WASH IT OFF with warm water and pat dry. Oh how simple life is…*le sigh*
Anyways, that is it for today ladies! Please let me know how these recipes worked for you or if you have any other lemon recipes, feel free to share them in the comments or send me an e-mail through the contact button above!
I am thinking about doing next week’s “OOTD & What’s in My Bag: Concert Edition” post on Monday since Tuesday I will be BUSY with Mom’s birthday and then the concert in Maryland. But I may do a SimplyMe post to show off pictures and experiences that have recently occurred…like this ridiculous sunburn (it’s embarrassing).
As always, please have an amazing rest of the week! Thank you all for the love and support~! And please be safe, stay blessed, and always remember to Live. Laugh. Smile 🙂
Thanks for Reading~! ❤
